Top MLBB lipsticks

Hi everyone!

For summer, I've been going for minimal makeup so MLBB is the perfect way to go. MLBB stands for, in case you didn't know, My Lips But Better. (natural, easy, my own lip colour but better than that) haha... anyway... These are my favourite MLBB type lipsticks, just a helpful prelude: my lips are a deep warm toned, berry red but these lipsticks I feel are a great formula and most have many shades so, obviously, choose a shade that's right for you...
First, before anything, I like to make sure
my natural lips are taken care of:
EOS lip balm £6.50
+smooths, softens, moisturises lips
+lipstick sits well on top
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub £5.50
+gentle but gets rid of dry skin and softens lips
+TASTES LIKE SUGAR
Maybelline ColourSensational Lipstick
in 852 Coral Pearl £6.99

+sheer colour with shimmer
+smoothes over dryness
+easy to wear

Rimmel Moisture Renew in 125 To Nude
or Not to Nude? £6.49

+moisturising formula
+colour stays on for agesssss
+enhances lip shape
Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon £7.49
+glides on beautifully smoothly
+great colour pigmentation
+great colour match for me

Maybelline Baby Lips £2.99
Cherry Me and Peach Kiss
+basically tinted lip balm so really
hydrating
+sheer universal colour(looks good
on everyone)

Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Gloss £18.50
in Marina Pink
+beautiful colour!
+it's a lip gloss but it's so sheer and it tints
your lips, giving a natural but pretty
colour
-kind of expensive

...these are the ones I've been loving...

I kind of want to try some Liquid lipsticks now, any suggestions?

Lots of Love,
Sophie

Essie Nail Polish

These were the first nail polishes I have tried from Essie and I was amazed at how good they were. Like I had heard that these Essie Nail polishes were amazing and all, but they honestly are. They are so easy, they come out not too thick, not too thin and dry pretty fast as well.

I painted 2 coats in total and was amazed at the colours. Splash of Grenadine is a fun, bright purple/pink which is perfect for sumer and then In Stitches is a rosy red/pink. Both beautiful colours and I think there are colours for everyone.

I definitely want to try some other colours. What are your favourite colours?

Lots of Love,

Summer Holidays

Hey everyone,

Hope you're all enjoying your holidays!

I'm going on a cruise for a couple of days and so I won't be writing for a while. I know that you can schedule posts or write them on the boat but I've been scheduling posts this whole holiday and I thought it was time I took a break anyway. I think it's better for me to write quality posts rather than quick, typo-ridden type posts. Although, if you want to see a post on my holiday, let me know and I'd be happy to when I get back. I don't know if I'll even be able to use the internet or use my laptop so I can't reply to comments/emails. *sorry*

My next post will be up on 20th August, just a week away so I'm not missing that much really...

Sorry again guys!

I just thought I'd write this so you don't think that I've disappeared or something.

Enjoy your holidays everyone :)

Lots of Love,
Sophiw

Beauty Blender | review

THE BEAUTY BLENDER £16.00

-if you haven’t heard of the beauty blender then, where have you been?

-if you haven’t been able to actually purchase one, then I understand: there is a LOT of scepticism around this expensive sponge tool thing….

The big question is: is it worth it?I’m not actually sure why this sponge is so expensive but it DOES make a world of a difference to your makeup. It’s basically a porous sponge that is meant to make blending foundations a lot easier and give an airbrushed finish.

It says to wet the sponge when applying dry makeup to make the powder look less caked on and more natural on the skin. I wet the sponge even when applying liquid foundation, when I add water, the sponge expands to double it’s previous size. ITS CRAZY TALK!!!!…but yeah, pretty surprised when I first used it.

I find that using this sponge makes application so much easier but I find it uses more product, probably because it absorbs it as well. Another down side is that is INCREDIBLY hard to clean. When I bought this, I didn’t buy it with the solid cleanser it came with because I felt that it was unnecessary, but now I’m thinking I should go and buy it. Other than that, I don’t really know how else to clean it.

Are there any good suggestions as to how I should clean it?

In terms of high street “dupes”, I would say that this is definitely better than just the small white triangular shaped sponges that leave lines and edges in your makeup. I am, however, planning to test out some others: real techniques, models own and any more you want me try?

I’ll keep you updated if there are any advancements :)

Lots of Love,
Sophie

Sisley Paris Lip gloss | new discovery

This is actually pretty expensive, but I received it as a gift so I didn't know but I am obviously VERY grateful. I had never heard of this brand before but i fell in LOVE with this lip gloss.

The colour, first, is GORGEOUS. A bright, hot pink, perfect for summer. The formula, is also great; it glides on to the lips and stays glossy. It is also very pigmented so it almost stains your lips with this brilliant Fuchsia colour.

I haven't tried anything else from this brand but considering how amazing this lipstick is, I really want to try other products.

Any recommendations?

Lots of lOVE,
sOPHIE

Summer Morning

Here we are, in the midst of summer. This may prove to be a very boring post, but for those of you who lie that sort of thing, I welcome you to join me as I try to make my meagre mornings sound interesting.

I'd like to say that I wake up at the break of dawn and do yoga and all that healthy stuff...but I don't. The reality is I sleep in till about 9 and the wander downstairs to have breakfast. When I finally finish, I...

I take a shower...

I'll do my makeup while...
listening to music on Spotify...
LUNCHTIME

Then i'l just get on with my day:
go for a run/ cycle
meet friends/ watch film
but mostly, I'll just sit and watch FRIENDS
I hope this was at least slightly interesting for some of you:)
Lots of Love,
Sophie
